bought this off ebay for a greatly reduced price being a factory refurbished model,but you couldnt tell as it was in original packaging with absolutely no signs of use,i put this unit to the test immediately,did a great job after a little experimenting,it puts out a lot of solution so i only dispersed solution on the forward stroke instead of for and back as instructions,other reviews says that the suction is weak but by lowering the out put i got great results,yes the carpet is wet afterwards and i went over more times also on the suction more until the liquid coming up the nose piece was minimal to none.i measured the dirty tank and it was about 50% of dispersed,this is about par for any of these machines.i have owed 3 different bissels,the first was a 9000 series pro hea unit which worked well for several years till the suction started declining,the second one was a upright with a removable power unit,i really liked this unit as the suction was great but the 2nd time i went to use it it wouldnt disperse liquid,after trying everything i could to no avail i gave up and went back to the old one as i couldnt return it because of the length of time i had had it.really to bad but to have it repaired locally would not have been cost effective,just a bad unit i guess but wouldnt buy another.next unit is this one,lets hope it lasts or i wont be buying another bissel. i like the way the front piece come apart for cleaning,aways was a problem with the other units . First of all, it's in very good condition. And you can not tell if this is a brand new or refurbished item. It comes with 1 gallon clean tank. A little small for a large room, esp for a deep clean. You might need refill it couple of time to clean the whole house. Even it's a little bit heave, but quite easy to operate. Just in deep clean mode, you need repeat pull the machine to make no more water left. And it make the rug looks like the brand new. All kinds of accesory is a littlbe bit overwhelem. I like the one can clean the sofa. As I have other vaccum, those none wet headers are not help too much.

Plastic is not like older models. Plastic on this unit is like china toy plastic. No on board tool storage. No on/ off switch for heat, which not sure it really heats the water or not. I do love your able to clean the brushes and suction inlet compare to older models. Great suction, but not as good on berber carpets. Two roller are great for loosening up hair. Mixing solution in with water seems it would shorten the life on the heater element.

I thought I would have to replace my carpets. Beige, with dark grey in front of couch where feet go (no shoes). I borrowed a friends exact same model, thinking it wouldn't work well, but he said it's amazing. After using it in my den, I bought this unit the next day. The great thing is that it's so easy to go back and forth over the same bad dirt areas. What would be an ordeal with a rental unit, is a piece of cake with this thing. The carpet looks new. I truly thought I'd have to replace it all. I then did the stairs, using both the unit itself, and the attachment. I used the unit sideways on the step, and then held it perpendicular to the step so I could get the edge of the step. It was cumbersome, but worked. I still had to use the attachment, to finish the edge of the step. A lot of work, but so is saving the money for new carpeted steps. I then went to clean my girlfriends carpet and looked like a hero. That's a tip for the men out there. Cleaning the unit is easy. I have daughters with long hair, so that has to be cleaned from the rollers, which are super easy to get to. Cleaning up was a few minutes, as everything detaches so easily. As for it being refurbished, I could not tell. It looks brand new. Mine was a bright green, not the red in the picture. But that matched what my friend loaned me, so I was thankful of that. But if you expect red or orange, expand your expectations to avoid being miffed. I am one of the most frugal people I know, but this thing delivers. Renting a unit is such a pain, and I hadn't done the carpets in too many years to admit here. Now it will likely be at least annually, plus cleaning a spill is not an ordeal. I mentioned daughters, right? One thing to note. There is a float to avoid spillage. It starts to kick in when the catch basin is about one third full, since it keeps the unit from drawing more liquid.
