    XANTREX PROWATT SINE WAVE INVERTER IS HIGH QUALITY

    I bought this inverter for my RV because of reviews elsewhere seemed to indicate that it was higher quality and had less problems than the cheaper competition. My experience is that when installed correctly (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!) it works as advertised and is very quiet. Especially pay attention to the 12V battery(ies), wire gauge and terminations -- they must be waterproof and perfect. It's robust enough to deal with overloads and the display tells you what's going on. My only problem involved the 120V neutral cannot be grounded. You MUST let it float or the unit's GFI will keep tripping. Other than that it's flawless. I also installed the remote switch and light with no problems. Overall a very good experience.

    Meets my needs

    Have only tested for about 15 minutes to run a small chest freezer with starting amps of 5 amps (600 watts) and continuous about 6.6 amps (70 watts). Starting DC amps calculates to be about 55 amps. So far it works good - give it 4 stars. It needs the time test to get 5 stars. Installed in my truck under back seat of quad cab. It took about 2 hours. Used 15ft of 4 awg rated for 85 amps, installed 80 amp fuse and installed knife switch to kill power when not in use. Will only use when truck is running, so not worried about draining battery.

    Back up power after hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico

    I used this inverter as an alternate power hooked up to a Toyota Prius, it has been working excellent, more than 280 hours of pure sine wave which powers a full size refrigerator, 3 ceiling fans, LED lamps, laptop computers, radios, etc. Excellent equipment, highly recommended.

    Solid and reliable

    My unit is new and I have not had a chance to use it much. However a feel much safer with this unit then I have with other less expensive ones. It works well and is quality built. I have my shore power plugged into it when boondocking in order to turn my Ac plugs on.

    Works great

    A little trouble to install and had to locate the inline fuses which took a few days. Installed in old Gibson Houseboat to run refrigerator when out of the dock and works great. Continuously shows batter voltage to let you know when the house battery needs charging.

    Air Conditioner when Boondocking

    Purchased as a component in a solar system on my WeeRoll camper trailer. System not completed yet, but will mount it to the rear wall and connect the positive and negative battery cables and a chassis ground, and it will be ready for operation.
