I am really impressed with the quality and speed of this device especially in areas where signal is not strong the throughput is still high. It's ability to do multiple v-lans and the connection of all the devices you could possibly connect in your home and still get amazing speed is mind boggling. The only reason I don't give this device 5 out of five is for coverage, while it has very good coverage it could be better. As a result I just opted to use one on each floor of my home and that works extremely well. I wish there was a 4.5 out of 5 rating !! That's what I give it 4.5 rating.

I have the UAP-AC-LR version of this product on the far side of the house and love it, so I decided to purchase another for the other side of the house. The LAN cable already ran right through where I wanted It, and rather than purchasing a switch and the LR version plus running power there to that location for the switch (the LR does not have a pass through port) I bought this one. Works just as good as the LR and has the pass through port. Ubiquity products may take a little knowledge and time to setup, it is worth it. Once is setup you can drop it into any router system without making any changes to the network name and password because it is held in the AP not the router. Plus the pass off of your connection to each other is seamless.

I installed the AP in a few hours. Thankfully I've been in IT for quite some time and have installed other AP's before. It is important to note that this is NOT a router/wifi device. It will not replace your home wifi/router by it self. It does allow you to turn off the radio's in your router/wifi device and use it only for the routing portion though. My only complaint is the difficulty "finding" it on the network. You have to be connected physically to the AP (via a switch/router). I was hoping the devices were smart enough to "phone home" to the Ubiquiti network cloud so that you could configure a little easier (similar to Meraki). Just make sure you have some patience and another way to connect to in the internet for installation help via google.
