A good black and white film about World War 2 nurses on Bataan. As to be expected from a movie adapted from a play, there is a lot of talk, but the action scenes deliver. The large ensemble cast of women appear suitably unglamorous. Margaret Sullavan is especially convincing as the exhausted head nurse. An unfortunately jarring note is the stereotypically ditzy Southern belle nurse who looks and acts like Elly May Clampett, including pigtails. Otherwise, a realistic film about ordinary women adapting to war.
I saw it with my Dad when a was 5 I am now 70 I loved it
