Having purchased an R850 Hotspot, these batteries are essential to its operation. The average life expectancy of the batteries is about 3 months based on my personal experience. Therefore I highly recommend that one purchase several of these batteries and have them available to replace. You know the battery is reaching the end of its life when it starts to bulge at the middle and it stays hot. When the back of the hotspot pops off, it is time to change the battery. Be sure to use the original Franklin charger to recharge the batteries since other chargers may have a higher charge rate that will shorten the battery life.

It's a perfect fit, charges properly and promptly.I believe it is a good value for the price as well. I just received it though. UPDATE: It's been 7 months and as it is im looking for a replacement. These batteries get swollen badly fairly soon. They tend to get too hot with a regular charge. For $10 it was fair but if you're gonna pay $100 plus $10 ship for a battery that wont last a year, you might as well replace the modem for $80 or less.
