Fanatec needed to clearly state that the driver contains; the driver, the control panel and compatible firmware that MATCHES the driver. This is an important understanding.
I was replacing a Club Sport V2.5 motor with the DD1. I had updated my Club Sport several times during the time in was in service. So I had, not the latest but, close, driver code. The DD1 was received with the BASE level firmware. Which, as I said, did not match the driver that I had installed.
Basically the DD1 appeared to be BRICKED.
Had I understood the driver situation and the firmware level of the DD1. I would have done a correct procedure for installing the DD1.
I just happened across a Red paragraph in the control panel that explained the situation and I was able to get the DD1 up and running. Thank goodness as I was about to return the product.
