I really like these kits. No more changing points in your older vehicles ignition system. I would recommend these to anyone. I already have this same kit in a vehicle I have owned for 35 years. This kit has been in this vehicle for most of those 35 year. It has never gave me a minute of trouble. I could not complain one bit if it wouldn't start tomorrow. I would be buying another for it. These kits are just great.

I have put on a least a dozen of these units. They are simple to install and are of excellent quality. This is one of the best upgrades anyone can do to an old car with point type ignition. If you want your old car ride to not suffer the problems (which are numerous) of the unreliable point type ignition then this is the best upgrade for the money. I have put on other units, but this is the simplest and the best in my view. I am a ASE Master Tech with over 40 years of repair experience.

I installed this quickly and easily on a 390 Ford. On mine, the little dimple on the bottom of the ticker plate didn't want to stay lined up with the screw hole it had to stay in. It took care to keep it perfectly still while putting the hold-down screw in. Next came the black plastic donut which goes on the rotor shaft. Align this part with any of those little bumps and press it down gently. I had no clue if ONE of the lobes was "right" but it seems that does not matter at all, if you push it on at the 12, 3, 6, or 9-o-clock point, it still works fine just so long as it is on there. The wires need to be hooked up to the coil, then put on the rotor and cap. The car started immediately on the first try. She's running better than before; I need to turn down her idle. 3 other things I really like: First, this is a minimal change. If you don't like it, just put your points plate back in and hook the wires back up. No need to cut your wiring all to bits. Easy. Really. Second, made in USA. Third, cheap; mine cost as much as a cap, rotor, and wires.Read full review

I bought this as a points replacement. It worked great. Simple 2 wire hook up, truck runs better, starts better too. Good part.

Started right up ! So smooth too. The crimps that come installed on the unit will not fit thru the hole in distributor housing, so be ready to cut and reattach. Followed instructions and everything is working great. Bought their coil at same time to be sure all matched...it is running great, just found that the coil they sent is a 3.0 ohm coil, requirements listed for a V8 are a 1.5 ohm coil. Don't know if this is going to be a problem yet.
