  • Just what I needed!

So far the phone has been great. I just put down my LG G2 due to a cracked LCD and since replacing the screen was a problem since I don't have time to do that myself; I spent a little more and got this great deal on the G3. The phone fits perfectly in my hand even with its Ottebox Case Defender case. Anyone looking for a device that will run pretty much any type of app without hesitation can do so with the G3. Sound quality on both sides of the call is are clear and holds signal very well, 1/8 jack (headphone) outputs plenty of punch to drive my Sony MDR700s as well. Marshmallow 6.0 looks and runs very smoothly without delay and upgrades the interface very nicely. Being a father of a 2yr old and a 7yr old soccer player, I have been able to capture their moments with great accuracy, A big improvement over the G2. Pictures come out clear and sharp, I believe the laser focus has helped this out since my G2 pictures were great but not as sharp. Video is very well done in FHD or UHD settings. Documenting my kids has been quite fun. Get Class 10 128GB MicroSD card for that extra storage! Bad or Could have been done better: It lacks an Advanced settings with Photo and Video, but I am not a photographer, nor am I a Videographer so this may bother some but not someone who just wants to point and shoot. I wish the back cover felt more solid, feels too cheap, should have been reinforced with a stiffer material. But since I use an Otterbox Defender case, I solved that but it does make the phone larger, so smaller hands will be fighting for grip. The battery seems to last a full day with my frequent Google Maps and iHeart Radio streaming. Just be sure to run with the screen off when you can to lengthen use. Playing music through built in speaker is lacking anything exciting, I don't expect much from any phone but come on LG, the back plate could have been used for porting sound better some how considering how large the phone is. For calls though it is good enough. Too much bloatware! Disabled it all. Able to move some apps I installed to SD card. Those are the things I find myself nitpicking about the most. Since it has been out for nearly 2 years now, I can honestly say that it still packs a punch to many phones out there now. Hopefully this was helpful to somebody out there! Los Angeles Area on Verizon's network.

  • Awesome phone, but...

The phone is amazing. Perfect display. Unlocked as stated. Great build quality. I am overly impressed. Battery life is okay. Not the best but still great. My only small issue was the charger that came included. Wasn't strong enough to allow me to use my phone and charge at the same time. And took about 12 hours to reach a full charge. I ended up switching out cables by using a household member's temporarily, which was an HTC's charger, and it ended up charging fully in 3 hours and charging while I used the device. The old charger wouldn't really charge either. Battery life was terrible with that one. Just to let you guys now in case you wonder why the battery life isn't good if you used the regular one. It isn't an issue with the phone. Just get a new wire, and all is good

  • Good phone, but...

Overall I think this is a good phone. It's processor is fast. I have encountered no problems with most of the apps. However, the battery life, even in "Battery Saver" mode is among the worst I have experienced among android phones. With moderate use including no games,a few social media accounts and two email accounts which i manually update, manually controlling the brightness of the screen, few shorts calls daily and most always connected to Wi-Fi I still have to charge it by of not before the end of the day as the battery is very low. Worst of all is the repetitive issue with the battery. If the phone should turn off, for any reason, a few seconds upon turning on the message, 'Invalid Battery' is displayed followed by the phone shutting down automatically. Sometimes it takes a few restarts to get the phone on and it stays on, sometimes it can take as long as 20-30 minutes of retrying. The battery is the stock battery that is supplied by LG. The phone was brand new when I purchased it two - three weeks ago. Also, contacting LG is minimally helpful. With the phone warranty in place they require sending the phone to them to be "checked." I am very skeptical of doing so as I have read countless comments wherein phones were sent to LG only to have them sent back with no repair and no accountability for battery or phone malfunction. Also, as if today I read 199 Consumer Affairs complaints filled regarding customer service especially related to repairs and/or replacements. Whether the "Battery Saver" is engaged or not and I speak on the phone, the battery/phone gets very hot. I have tried shutting down nonessential background apps, but it does not help. I have read on many forums that the 5.0.1 update is the reason for some of these issues. And there is some online chatter about an upgrade to android 6.0 that may help correct some issues including battery life, perhaps later this year, but neither LG's, nor AT&T's websites confirm the rumors.

  • Great phone when we first got it......

This is a good phone with great performance and many, many features. When I first got it, the battery life was great. If I didn't make many calls or texts, or spend much time using data, it would last almost a week, provided it was just on standby most of the time. Then, when a update to marshmallow was attempted to be forced on this phone, the battery died in about a day, even though it was used very little. I searched the internet for a solution, and found one that involved taking a chance on bricking my phone. Everything worked out great. I no longer get the forced update message, and the battery life is back to what I experienced when I first got the phone. I previously had a galaxy s5, and I think it is every bit as good as that one, maybe better. I don't think that the forced update and the problems that were associated with it were the phone's fault, but rather the carrier's fault along with the android system's fault. It is kind of sad that they attempt to force things on us when we don't need or want them. I think we should have a choice, you know, like we did when this country was founded. Sadly, It seems we are moving away from that ideology. Sorry for being a grumpy old man, but things like this make me sad.

  • Thin, Lightweight With Great Features!

Great phone! LOVE the features! ONLY FIVE drawbacks...can't understand WHY they put the 3.5mm jack on the BOTTOM of the phone...??? VERY inconvenient, if you ask me! Doesn't make any sense! Other drawback is the "short" battery life! It's NOT what the description reads....500+ standby hours! Had to buy a 5000mAh battery and even that one doesn't go over 3 days! Also, when pushing button on back to close or turn off the phone, it takes a "snapshot" pic, over and over again! Also, the same button on back turns up or down the phone volume...??? SO inconvenient!! Do NOT understand WHY they have 3 features for ONE button! It should be ON/OFF or POWER OFF with the ONE button!!! Worst of all...the speaker phone has to be almost to ear level to be able to hear what the other person on the line is saying...NOT GOOD!! Actually, NOT that great a phone for the price I had to pay for it....over $200.00.. USED!! Still, But I do love the "talking" apps on the phone! And I didn't have to "add" manually, my contact list. It did it all by itself and I still don't know how...LOL Another thing, I had no User Manual so you can see why I wasn't able to check things out when I needed to check on how the phone or apps worked...ugh!!! So...YOU be the judge of what you are buying, so buy wisely!

  • Overall great phone

The G3 is a very quality phone. I do say it should always have a screen protector on it, but that's the same with all phones. Some say battery sucks, to me it's good. Lasts all day but might be basically dead at bedtime. It might have a tiny bit more lag than the HTC One m8, but it's smoother than the Galaxy s5. It has more customizability than both of the others stated. You will not be disappointed with this phone.

  • Poor Quality, Bad Warranty

the phone is gorgeous. Its quality is bad. The screen expired after 1 year and 3 days use. LG would not stand by its product & refused to repair unless i paid. I bought another one for less than 1/4 of original cost as id got all the accessories so it would have been a waste to discard. I cant think of another product one spends $400 & a natural fault leading to non use after a year isnt called bad quality & exchanged. That LG will not stand by its product is BAD & worrying.

  • Fully tested?

This phone seems to have problems other than minor cosmetic flaws. On phone calls people keep telling me I'm breaking up/they can't hear me. Since I'm in the same location as with my previous (LG) phone, the issue seems to be this device. I have played around with all relevant settings, trying to resolve this. I was too busy to do a phone switch immediately upon receipt, but since switching have gone through the laborious process of updating missing data and settings (lost in transfer); updating OS, etc. I hate to think I may have to do this all over again if this phone won't function properly as a PHONE.

  • Good overall value

The LG G3 is not exactly a "small" form factor, width-wise, but neither is it uncomfortable in my petite wife's hand. The phone is actually quite light, especially for the overall size. The battery never run's down. We bought an extra battery and stand charger in anticipation, but have only swapped batteries once, after a long day-and-a-half without a charge and with slightly over-average use. The phone has exceptionally clear communication.
