My parents have had to replace 2 of these on their stove, and get charged $200+ to have a repair person do it. This is an easy repair to do yourself with little more than a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. There are plenty of online instructions out there if you need help or encouragement. The part looks to be identical in form and quality to the OEM piece that was installed. I did this for a Christmas present to my Mom who had been suffering with a bad burner for a year. 2 months later it is still working perfect. If another one goes, I will gladly do it again.

My 2 front burners wouldn't adjust the heat. Either full power, on or off. Installation was 2 screws under the know, unplug the stove and remove back cover. Then it's just a matter of unplugging the connectors. Mine had 2 plugs on each switch I replaced. Then put everything back together. About 20 minutes to replace both switches.

The switch was easy to install. I left the old switch in place and removed each wire one by one attaching them to the same position on the new switch. Then I removed the screws holding the original switch and took it out. I placed the new switch in place and put the screws in to hold it in place. The new switch shaft was a little longer then the original but was designed to easily modify. You have to remove a clip on the shaft that holds on the knob. Then you take pliers and break off the end of the shaft and then reattach the clip that holds the know on. I installed it about 3 weeks ago and has worked with no problems. The old switch would intermittently stay on and not cycle the heating element off and on.

This is an easy installation to replace a switch that was leaving the burner on high even after turning it to medium or low. Very easy and save $100 service call.

Lower priced than 3148954 but, as others have noted, may have a longer shaft than the infinite switch you are replacing. The shaft is designed to be shortened if needed by simply (1) removing the clip that keeps the knob snug (I used a pair of needle-nose pliers) (2) cutting the shaft at the thinnest point (I first confirmed that this was the proper point by comparing the shaft length with the old infinite switch; I used a pair of lineman's pliers for the cutting) (3) putting the clip back on. Despite that inconvenience, the switch works so far and was priced at about half of the 3148954 switch I was replacing.
