If you are coming from DIY Perks' video, "DIY Sun-Blaster" do not buy this, though it is one of the only results on eBay - 5 out of 5 of these units I've bought have failed in a few different ways following the same process. I had only one working for a good period of time before it finally failed like the others. The project is extremely simple and followed along closely with DIY Perks' video. Do not buy voltage boosters that have this QSKJ brand printed on the bottom of them. You'll notice that the center component has far less copper coiling around it than the unit DIY Perks uses. I made the mistake of building this for a critically important video shoot.

I Used it to make a 12 V input (Automobile cigar lighter) laptop computer power supply: I salvaged the output filter (sawed off the last inch of the circuit board) of an old D*ll 120 Volt power supply to insure I got the extra filtering and also the important memory I.C. that All D*ll computers require to recognize a genuine power supply. I Used the old D*ll case (cut down) and DC cable with the very special plug: That small center contact is NOT power; it is "one-line" data. Works Great, and produces very little heat: No case ventilation was required.

Will use as a dc boost for a medical device (cpap). This is under $10 dollars compared to $75 for the cpap mfg unit.

This unit is powering a 19V DC irrigation controller from a small 12V solar/battery. Easy to connect screw terminals, heat sink temp is good, voltage is easy to adjust with SMALL screw driver, voltage once adjusted is stable under load. Good useful unit.
