Great tool, plenty of heat. Battery life short.
I use this tool for soldering terminals on the comm line of a ski lift, and it works great for that. It is not seriously heavy duty work, but it gets cold and windy, and this Milwaukee handles it. Warms up from cold in less than 20 seconds, really, and stays hot until turned off. Cool down time is about 5 minutes in the wind, until safe to put in bag; accelerate cool down with damp rag while cleaning tip. Includes a pen tip and broad tip, which covers all my bases. The battery life is not great. Maybe 10-15 minutes of straight on time with the included battery. Get some extra and bigger batteries. The tool stays well balanced even with heavy batteries, especially when the head is pivoted to 90 degrees.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Everything is good so I wont repeat everything that’s already in the product description. However there are two things that bothered me which kept me from a 5star review. 1. There’s no heat setting. So you can’t make it hotter or cooler. One ‘universal ‘ heat. 2. Battery life. Says something like 45 minutes. It’s more like 20. Which can be really frustrating if you’ve only got one battery. Why is this tool NO longer being made??
Contacted Home Depot after Xmas they were $10 cheaper but said " tool no longer available." WTF?? Desired this tool so paid about double what Home Depot asked before Xmas.
