Need a wired connection in your house and do not want to run ethernet cable through your house? Wireless not reliable, but there is an electrical outlet nearby? Powerline ethernet may be the answer. D-Link DHP-309AV is the model number for a pair of DHP-308AV adapters. These devices were easy to set up. Take one adapter and plug it into an outlet. In the same room, plug in the other adapter to a different outlet. Press and hold the button on the bottom of the adapter for 10 seconds. Lights will begin to flash when the reset is starting. Release the button. Repeat this process on the second adapter. To finish the setup process, press the button once on one adapter. Within two minutes, press the button on the other adapter. The middle light will light up green indicating it has a powerline connection. You're ready to add the ethernet cables and complete your network. In my experience, this device is rated for up to 200 mbps, but I can only get 100 mbps. There are a number of reasons why you might not get the full speed, most of which are electrical related. Like perhaps you have older wiring, or other devices like a washing machine, that interfere with the powerline network. I am satisfied with the speed. On a 25 mbps DSL line, I was getting 20 mbps speeds download through the powerline network. Network latency was in the mid 40 milliseconds. Overall, I am happy with this product.

  • Nice Powerline Adapters

These powerline adapters linked immediately after I plugged them in. I didn't have to do anything. So these didn't balk when attempting to link them, which was a problem for the ones they replaced. No drop outs or lost connections so far. They are a bit larger than the ones they replaced and that created a minor problem plugging them in---conflict with an angled 3 prong plug.

  • excellent choice for a wireless connection

This item worked well for my needs. It was easy to set up and so far is doing exactly what I needed it to do. I am using it to link a laser printer to my laptop. I had tried a wireless access point and another router, but for some reason they would not work correctly.

  • Easy and effective

No issues using this model with the 600 series already in place. Connect the network cable, plug this box into the wall, turn on your device, press the only button on this box, and in a few seconds, you should see three lights. If the speed is low, the middle light will be red or amber, but the network should still be functional.

  • Much better than a long wire

My setup is 5m trough 2 walls into a 5-port switch and speed is unaffected. Wire would have to be 10m or 15m with alot of work to conseal. This solved so many of my issues simple and easy.

  • Perfect answer to wired internet network in your house!

This product is a perfect solution to getting wired internet in the house without the hassle of rewiring your house. Just plug it in any household power outlet and turn your existing household electrical wiring into a network. I have had this for about a year and it is working very well so far. I would recommend this product without reservation.

  • Better then expected

The instructions said had to be on the same breaker line. I have it hooked up where it is running from one circuit to the breaker box, out through another circuit to another box, on a circuit on that box, then through an extension cord and it still works fine. I do not know if this is the same line or if it communicates through the neutral as well. The ping is faster then wifi and the throughput is higher then my internet provider (20+mbps). I don't know the cap because I have no ability to do an internal network transfer.

  • Easy setup. Works great

Easy to set up. Just plug one end into your router on an available Network Port and plug the 1st adapter into any power outlet within reach. Then plug the second adapter into the wall near your device and connected via network cable. Press the pairing button and you're online.

  • As advertised

I bought 4 of the powerline adapters and got to say, they were easy to setup, easy to pair and I was able to improve my parents' house internet. Will buy one more set in the future.
