  • Very good mic for cheap

Bought this mic after looking at reviews. It's a good standard mic & I use it for dj'ing. The mic is very easy to use & it's very durable. Has a good feel & weight to it. It also comes in a nice presentable case with a mic clip too. Only problem was that I ordered the mic & seconds later decided I didn't want it anymore. They never responded back & still shipped it. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it. It also has a dampening sound to it so your voice sounds a little muddy. Does not have an on/off button which is sort of inconvenient. I also ordered it off of eBay but it came from an Amazon prime box which made no sense. Worth the buy overall.

  • WTF! Holy cow it's awesome!!!

Why is this microphone not a #1 pick for everyone is beyond me. Paid less than $30 for it and it outperforms all the other mics easily 3-10x it's cost. I was skeptical at first, but then I plugged it in and was amazed. Especially coming off the bad end of a recent purchase of a sm58 that was faulty right out of the box. I'm going to buy two more of these for back-ups and will still be into it less than what I paid for one sm58. Truly a diamond in the rough!!!

  • Affordable high quality

I consider this a five star mike because it performs just as good as a high priced one. The sound quality that comes out of it, is excellent. It is ergonomic friendly. It is a state of the art in manufacturing, very well constructed.

  • Good Sound and Built Quality

The Behringer XM8500 sounds very good, and is solidly built, it have a good off-axis noise reduction which is very important for singing Karaoke at out door in an open space.

  • Basically an sm57 copy

This mic is so good that it’s could replace my sm57. Now that’s not to say that it is better or the same but if i never had an sm57 it would do the same job well. It’s got a high output level so I had to turn my gear down and it’s a lot heavier than the sm57 for sure. It sounds fantastic and alive but the bass is too strong compared to the 57 and that’s not good for a lot of things. It’s best used as a direct mic for guitar and snare direct Definitely worth my $20 Gear tested on Marshall dsl40c Fender rad bass 40w Simple snare and bass

  • A 20 dollar Mic that sounds like a 50 dollar Mic.

Not as high output as they it says. Build quality s OK. Sound is good. Not great not terrible. A little muddy and handling noise is there too. But Worth way more than 20 dollars in value. Does not handle high Spl either. Just good for light speech and light singing.

  • Great Price

This is a really good deal. Very nice sounding Mic for the price. Don't really know why I would need anything better. Very pleasant to the ears.

  • Great sounding mike - better than more expensive mikes.

I heard a ham radio operator using one of these and his audio was simply GREAT! Based on this, I decided to invest $20 for one. It came promptly as scheduled. I connected it to my Elecraft K3S {an absolutely awesome radio} in place of either my Heil PR-781 or Shure SM-58. I immediately got GREATsounding audio reports. In comparing the specs and frequency response of the Shure SM58 {basically a $100 mike} and the Behringer XM8500, the 8500 has a wee bit more high end. Otherwise they are identical I've listened to my station and my voice in a critical listening environment, and I agree, it is a good sounding mike. Correctly interfaced to the radio and with the radio properly adjusted, it should produce great sounding audio on yours as well. Of note - I find with many mikes, and this one is no exception, the correct mike technique is the single most important factor to getting great audio reports. You can equalize and compress and process until you run out of knobs to turn and settings to adjust. If you don't use the correct mike-to-mouth distance and correct mike position, you'll never get great audio!

  • A True Contender, Bang for the Buck Defined!

I saw one reviewer call this an SM58 Killer. Well, kind of, yeah. Great feel, build, and sounds easily 90 percent as good as the Shure. Considering this baby is 20 bucks and the Shure is 100, not too shabby. I have both. My Shure is 17 years old, dented grill, still sounds perfect. The proof of the Behringer will be what I say about it years from now, but so far, so good.

  • Don't hesitate purchasing this microphone

Our church has a few aging SM58 mics. Some time ago I purchased an XM8500 and just recently added three more to our closet. Buying the Behringers was cheaper than upgrading the SM58 mics. The Behringers actually seem more brilliant than the Shures, but admittedly I am comparing them to the aging SM58s. Regardless, the sound is excellent. A big thumbs down for the mic clips, which were totally useless. I couldn't even slip a mic into them. I ended up forcing them onto an old mic and then I hit them with my heat gun to relax the plastic. That seems to have worked OK. At least I can get a mic into them now.
