This remote was exactly like the original that came with my Sony TV. There were no codes to put in, just hit the power button and the HOME button.. Sony is always intuitive and extremely easy to use. The initial costs of Sony products are somewhat higher but they will operate reliably for years. If .this is important to you, I think you will be pleased with them.
