  • Piece o cake!

YouTube video on installation made this replacement a snap. Battery/Capacitor comes partially charged. You need to wear it for a day or so to fully charge it up. The winder weight has a screw holding it down that has a very fine screwdriver slot. I needed to sharpen my screwdriver to a fine edge just to get it into the screw head. Otherwise, piece o cake. Recommend using a magnifier or magnifying goggles and fine pointed tweezers as the parts are "tiny." Local jewelers wanted to keep it three days a charge me $130. Took me fifteen minutes, tops, taking my time as I went. My watch requires a device for removing a screw back style watch case. If you don't have one, order one. Worth the investment. Watch working again and keeping good time.

  • Seiko Watch Capacitor (battery) Kit

These kit worked and allowed me to use my Seiko that had sat idle for years. My jeweler wanted $$$ to do this job, the kit was $. Mind you, it is minute meticulous work.

  • Good time in a little package

Judging from the videos, I was expecting it to be a frustrating experience to change this capacitor. But aside from getting the watch itself open, this was super easy. The battery dropped snugly into place, the insulator stayed right where it was supposed to, and the cover fit exactly, all on the first try. The watch now runs smoothly and on time, and I expect it to for years to come.

  • Still working

Tried replacing a battery about a year ago in my Seiko 5M42 watch and it didn't last 3 months. Noticed the difference with this battery as it immediately indicated a full charge (second hand sweep thru 30 sec). Altho after about 4 days it has dropped to about a 20 sec sweep on test but has been holding steady so I am hopeful this is a "good" battery and that my early change out was a "stale" unit that would not hold a charge.

  • Shelf time is unknown...

Out of several I did bay, one was not 100% charged and showed only 50% charging after few days of wearing. It might be due to its "shelf" life. Due to no date of manufacture one can never know how long its been waiting before operated. Basically, all others items was VERY good.

  • New life for my Seiko Kinetic

Brought new life to my Seiko 5M62 Kinetic. I'm a sporadic wearer, but after three weeks I have yet to catch the indicator showing anything less than full strength. To DIY, must have case-back wrench, tiny non-magnetic screwdriver, tiny tweezers, magnifier (preferably a visor), clean & well-lit work space, steady hands, and extreme patience. It would make sense to offer this paired with a new case-back gasket.

  • Already going down

Have had it in watch for only a month or so and will not hold a full charge. The original capacitor that came with the watch lasted 5-6 years before loosing full charge and then maybe another year before it did not work, all in all a sorry performance for a stock seiko cap. My father got a kinetic in 1978 as a gift and the cap lasted till 1996 and that is after it had been sitting for about 2yrs. P.S. Just for general info I am a 30+ year veteran in electronics and automated equipment maintenance specializing in micro electronics and I can tell you if you do not have a good eye and a steady hand DO NOT try to replace this capicitor your self, even for me I had to modify my smallest screwdriver to complete the work.

  • Old Seiko lives on....

Fifteen year old Seiko Kinetic wouldn't hold a charge anymore and, after a LOT of shopping, I could not find a replacement that looked as good. Settled on a Seiko Solar and it quit after less than a year. I sent it back to Amazon for a refund, I then found detailed instructions on YouTube for replacing the "battery" in the Kinetic and took a chance. Absolutely thrilled with the results. Parts fit perfectly and my favorite watch is running perfectly again. So glad that these parts are available and that they work as they should. Many thanks for your help! All I had to do was buy a $7 tool to open the case.

  • Fixes Tired Kinetic Seiko Watches

Those Seiko kinetic watches have batteries which might last 10-years, but eventually they wear out and won't hold a charge. Kinetic watches are a bit pricey as quartz timepieces go, so you will probably want a jeweler/watchmaker to replace the battery. Or, you might be like me --- an "outhouse" watch repairer with the tools necessary for the job. Just unscrew the back, remove the battery cover, replace old with new, and put it back together. It's not a job for anyone who doesn't have the ability and the tools (mostly the case back tool) but I've re-battery'd several Kinetics without screwing up yet. The button battery is fine. It costs way more than the "regular" buttons, but you gotta remember this is a quality rechargeable cell capable of being charged by a tiny rotor-fired generator.

  • Seiko watch battery/capacitor

Worked well. As expected, this is fine detailed work. When installing make sure you have a good magnification source and lighting.
