NotesLimited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Animals is the tenth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in January 1977. It is a concept album that provides a scathing critique of the social-political conditions of late-70s Britain, and presents a marked change in musical style from their earlier work. Animals was recorded at the band's studio, Britannia Row, in London, but it's production was punctuated by the early signs of discord that three years later would culminate in keyboardist Richard Wright leaving the band. The album's cover image, a pig floating between two chimneys of the Battersea Power Station, was conceived by the band's bassist and lead songwriter Roger Waters, and was designed by long-time collaborator Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis. The album reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart. It was also a success in the United States, reaching #3 on the US Billboard 200.

    Recommended Vinyl remaster.

    Great remaster by Grundman and co. I'm always a little wary of remastered vinyl, as it tends to be a crapshhoot, due diligence is required. Rest assured though, these Floyd remasters are very very good. This is my third in the series and so far they all pass with flying colors. Noise floor is nice and quiet, dynamics are awesome, as is stereo separation and sound stage. Recommended. Equipment used: JVC QL-A7 DD Turntable, Onkyo grand integra P-308, Onkyo Integra M-504, and Paradigm studio 100 v4 speakers.
