HOW GOOD IS THE GALAXY TAB A 9.7?
If you are using this tablet as an e-reader or for surfing the web, it is excellent. If you are using it to view a lot of movies, not so good. This in due mainly to the lower screen resolution, which doesn't seem to be a problem for reading. Also because of its screen aspect ratio, it has a tendency to crop the tops off of newer movies, but not so much off of TV shows. I previously used a Tab 2 7.0, so that is what I am comparing the Tab A 9.7 to. With a faster quad processor, 2 GB RAM, and a larger internal memory card (16 or 32 GB), as well as an external mmemory card (up to 128 GB) should make a positive attribute for purchasing this device. It pretty much does what you want it to, at a price that is affordable. One of the more important features is the long battery life. It consumes less power then my Tab 2 and has a 6000 ma battery (Compared to a 4000 ma). I ran it 7 hours straight using wi-fi, and the battery only went from 100% down to 63%. Also, with the extra RAM and memory, it is alot funner and easier to use.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great value and the quality you expect from Samsung & Android
This is a pretty good tablet for the price. It is not a top of the line model, but has all the features I want. The screen quality/picture is decent and works very well for basic functions. There is a it of distortion on fast paced videos, but nothing too major. I would definitely suggest maxing out the memory with a 128gb SD card as the 32gb internal storage goes quickly. I am not a tech-nerd, just want easy usability, which thiis has in spades. It got me happily through a very long wait for and rehab after hip replacement! Love the eazy-peezy connectivity interface to screen-share with my Samsung SmartTV. Has tons of features I'll never use, but which should satisfy most users. Good charge life, and excellent power-saving options to extend that longer. Great multi-position cover/stand. I use an eye-glasses cloth to wipe it. Still as clear as new; not a scratch! Excellent quality. Some issues with some apps not yet configured to this device, but I have a desktop if that product is mandatory. Very happy with this tablet
I was worried about getting this tablet because I saw reviews that said its screen didn't show very well. (Note I have this same tablet in 8 inches and loved it but because I watch a lot of shows the smaller tablet didn't work as well.) So I got this tablet with some reservation and loved it! It has all the features of the 8 inch and although some reviews say the screen isn't wonderful I didn't have any problems with in. (Keep in mind I mostly use it for watching shows and television on the go.) I have used this so much. Great upgrade for me
I had an older Nook HD+ that was needing to be replaced. After much research I chose the Galaxy Tab A. I love it. The screen had a very clear image and the size is perfect. A little bigger than my Nook HD+ but weighs less. It's processing speed is faster, too. I added a tempered glass screen protector, plus a case and I have no worried about scratches. Nice alternative to iPad
My aging iPad started getting buggy and I was looking for an Apple alternative. Pros - cheaper, works like my Android, can add memory, has very decent battery life, has microsoft office programs, and is very responsive. Cons - speaker stinks, does not have an up button so if you are scrolling down you cannot pop up to the top, picture is just ok, and the 9.7" is smaller than the regular ipad (personal preference). Great First Tablet
This is my first tablet. It does everything I am looking for, and it is a very good value! I no longer have to carry around a 7.5 lb laptop on my trips. I could not be happier! Great everyday all-purpose tablet
A responsive and bright touch-screen, fast response times, well thought out keyboard, and not too much bloatware. I've only had it for about a month, but I can't think of how much more I could ask for the price. I saw some other reviews complaining of the screen resolution, but I find it more than adequate for my needs. The cover it comes with is sturdy and with the magnetic latch will keep the screen safe and hold the screen up at a variety of angles in landscape mode.
