Good Docsis 3.0 cable modem w/ telephony... Not so for router...
Cable modem and telephone work great w/ easy setup. Downside is the Wifi router was terrible even at max pwr setting. I got an external Linksys router that works great w/ this CM in bridging mode. W/ external Wifi router this is a good little CM w/ telephony. I gave 3 stars to compensate for the poor Wifi functionality. 5 stars for CM.

Modem does the job but rest of it is trash
Product does not work well at all. Wireless setup was garbage. I worked with Xfinity and Arris and neither one of them could resolve the wireless issues. Bought new WAP at local store and set it up in 90 seconds with no issue. This modem is not good at all.

Perfectl for my new Comcast acct.
Comcast had trouble provisioning voice service. They had to do a firmware update to make voice work. Just took a little time as it was not the usual setup. I'm getting about 40 meg on wireless connection from a 55 down service. Fine for us.

So far so good.
This unit come in good condition and is very satisfactory. In my area my internet provider it upgrading. This unit worked only after we convinced our provider to update the firmware. It has been 4 days. All is working well. Be informed, unless you are tech savvy, they will treat you like a dummy and not work with you. This seems true of more of these companies. Best of luck.

Great ARRIS router and modem
This product is the exact same unit that Comcast uses, and it came in a Xfinity box-took a bit of time to get Comcast to get it properly hooked up on their end, but they got it in due time. This will pay for itself after 1 year, after that it's like money in the bank, and the old modem was picked up the very next day by the Comcast Tech. The router/modem works very well, and we are very pleased with it.

I have bought 2 of these off ebay, and both failed. I had to waste my time twice with a Comcast guy to tell me each one was no good.

Never will rent modems again
This Arris modem is great and the WiFi is outstanding. When I looked at my internet provider bill and saw how much I was paying for the rental each month, I decided I would purchase my own and I am so glad I did. This TG862G is outstanding. When I received it, I was a little worried about getting service connected, but I gave my internet provider a call and they helped me set it up, free of charge and I have enjoyed it ever since. This is my second Arris modem, because with the first one I used a router separately and with this one, it is built in and I love it. No more rent and no more separate routers for me. Arris is great quality!
