this router is very powerful. I got a large home and before purchasing the router, I had serious dead spots around the house with the router my ISP provided me. I first got this one and my plan was building a mesh so this was the first step. from the moment I set it up, I noticed a BIG improvement in wifi coverage. Set up was a breeze with the google wifi app and I can manage it wherever I am from as long as I have internet both at home and in my cell. now I have a mesh system, consisting of this router and a google wifi (google's newer version) as a repeater to add coverage to the remaining dead spots. now I have whole home coverage. you can add as many of these as you want. you can also mix them up as I said, with the newer model from google and they work seamlessly. btw, it looks very cool. you don't really need to hide it. just the opposite. It gives your home a very modern touch. totally worth it!Read full review

Have TWC with the 200/20 plan and the modem/router they provided sucked and I couldn't get the speeds I was paying for. I replaced their equipment with a ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem from Amazon and three of these TP-LINK OnHub routers placed around the house and now I have screaming Internet throughout the whole house...and even out on the deck and porch. These OnHub routers are very easy to set up as a mesh network. Wish I would have done this sooner. Here's a tip for setting up a mesh network. For each router you want to set up...plug each router into your modem..one at a time, create as new network, it will update the software. When done, from your phone, reset to factory default. When done, do that with each router. When all have the new software and are back to factory default, plug one of them into the modem and create a new network. After completed, plug the next one into a power source, and go through the set up for mesh network...repeat for each router. I now get faster speeds than my TWC plan....about 240/25.Read full review

Tired of having multiple wifi extenders that constantly drop I investigated mesh networks. I needed something that I could put the kids on timeout, prioritize wife's internet traffic and manage everything even offsite. The OnHub ticked those boxes for me. I bought one to start with and I am super impressed. Previously without the extenders I would get POOR (11Mbps) wifi signal in my bedroom from my main router. With the OnHub (located right next to the main router) signal is EXCELLENT (72Mbps on phone) in my bedroom. My home is an old brick home. The parental control (time limits, Safe Search) are great features to keep the kids safe. I can prioritize my wife's device when needed (like when kids are streaming). The only feature request I would like is ability to lower certain devices priority (but sure that will still come). As someone not staying in USA, yes the AC adapter is rated 220v also so all you need is a US to your local plug converter for it to work. The app also does not have any localization limitations. I read old reviews where people complained about not being able to set DHCP range, DNS or IP address of the device, this is not the case with the latest firmware (that installs automatically when setting up the device). Would I recommend this product - for someone with beginner or intermediate IT skills and wants something that you can "set and forget" then I would say a definite yes. For someone who wants more control on their router and loves Mikrotek devices, maybe give this one a pass. For me this has been a great purchase that I definitely do not regret.Read full review

Own 1 already. Beter than G. WiFi. 13 antennas 5 2.4ghz 5 5ghz and one super 2.4. +more. 100 devices connected. I had up to 36 active devices all online. No problem. Traffic congestion antenna seamlessly connects you to least congested channel. Parental controls accessible from anywhere your smart phone has cell/wifi. Auto update. I know this is an older router but google built it future proof, their words verbatim. Had a G. Wifi point as a second mesh to my primary OnHub. returned it because OnHub is just hands down better, faster, (AC1900 not 1200) Ive owned OnHub 2+ years. Ive never reset device, reconfigured or had to reboot it. Set up was so easy my grandparents could do it.Highly recommended not to mention attractive enough to have right out in the open. No hiding this one in a basement cupboard. No annoying flashing lights. TP/Link TGR1900. Also available made by Asus which Ive never used.13 ANTENNAS 100+ DEVICES NO PROBLEM.Read full review

Honestly this is the most reliable router I have ever used, with the exception of that silly google cloud issue that occurred earlier I have had 0 issues with this unit. It patches itself and is never down. I have owned Netgear X series routers that had more features but were never as reliable at the TP-Link based OnHub I have now. I would like a few additional advanced features like port forwarding and perhaps we will get those. Really cannot go wrong with this if you need a reliable easy to expand wireless network.
