Great looks, about half price of the Shure 55. Adequate sound reproduction, haven’t had enough use and I don’t own a similar mic to compare it to. I bought the die cast metal version, and may get the all plastic one too. Microphone has a presence factor you don’t get with ball type microphones.

  • Great cast quality and finish, but has bad popping issues.

Great looking, but performance poor. I wasn't looking for a great sounding microphone when i bought this, i expected it to be what it is - a cheap microphone. What i didn't expect was the extreme pop problem this microphone has. It has a built in pop filter they say, but it doesn't seem to work very well if it does. I solved it by putting a pop shield in front of it, but that takes away from the looks, which is why i bought it in the first place. I think this microphone has more use just being a prop instead of it being used as a microphone. It is a great looker!

  • Amazing microphone at a great price!

I used to own a Shure 55SW and long ago while I did not have my eye on it, it grew legs and I never saw it again. Have been wanting one ever since but have been reluctant to spend a lot for a working/restored vintage piece or even a new model. Then I came across the Pyle Classic microphones and dug in to do some research. it seems the entire line passes muster with flying colors so it was just a matter of deciding which to get. Some of the reviews said the plastic models felt a bit light and cheap although they looked and sounded fine in the videos. Anyway, in this price range I thought it was a no brainer to spend just a bit more and get the metal version and I am totally stoked with it. This microphone is totally shiny, extremely well built, and beautiful. You can see that I checked no on the third question and that is a positive response as this baby has some nice significant heft to it and feels like total quality. The on/off switch works as it should and feels just right as does the angle adjustment and cord attachment. I have not used the microphone much yet but plan to use it as my steady gigging mike in the nearest future. So far I can say that this is a very responsive mike as long as you are not too far away which is good for me as it is not at all feedback prone. Nice frequency range and overall a very warm sounding unit. I cannot be any happier over my decision to buy this microphone and complete with the cord and sturdy carrying case, is one heck of a buy compared to its uptown cousin. I have not compared this side to side with the Shure but I am certain it would compare favorably and there is absolutely no doubt that at four times the price you will not be getting four times the mike. If you always wanted this style of microphone, any of the Pyle Classic series will do nicely, but I just had to have the metal mike! Love it! Not missing the Shure anymore!

  • Retro Microphone

I have two of these now and have used one on stage,.It seemed to be comparable to my SM58 (time will tell). I later changed the cartridge to an Shure R115 and changed it back as I preferred the stock sound better. Decent Mic for the money.

  • Looks amazing, and sounds great.

This mic is astheticly pleasing and sounds great, only wish it was a condenser mic.

  • Pyle Elvis mike.

Sounds very good, but be careful not to plug into a board with 48 volt phantom power. One side was connected to ground and needed to be modded. Factory mistake.

  • Microphone

We sing a lot of oldies, so the mic fits in perfectly, but with modern tech inside sounds and works better than the originals.
