This is a great product both mechanically and brand wise. I've used Seagate internal and external HDD's for years. Seagate was rated the number one brand for HDD's by Consumer Reports for many years so I've continued to patronize the brand. Mechanically there are no moving parts like the older style external HDD's so this product runs very quiet and responsive. It's also the smallest HDD I've ever purchased. Seagate 2TB drive
This is just what I was hoping it would be. It’s small, light, and simple. It’s going to hold more data than I could ever try to put onto it. I used to have an external drive, 15 years ago. It had to be plugged into the wall. It was the size of a dictionary, it wasn’t quiet, and it was about 1/10th the capacity of this one. To make matters worse, it died and I lost everything on it. Ok si first of all you can´t connect this drive via usb and use it to store games (oh yes those digitally downloaded hungry of space games...) on your shiny ps4 Buuut What you can do instead is open very carefully the case and remove the internal drive from its plastic prison then just follow the instructions that are on the ps4 site to upgrade your drive and voila!! you now have 4x the original storage (if you have the 500gb) or 2x the storage (of the 1tb version) :-D yaaaay!! so now you have a case where you can safely use the spare ps4 drive and you can save your files on your mac or pc (thats why you need to open the case carefully so you can use it later :-D) its worth mention that this drive uses a samsung drive that if you want to purchase it separetly it will cost more than this oneVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Sturdy, Reliable, Zero failures
I have 5 of these Seagate Expansion external HDDs because they're sturdy and reliable. I keep one velcro'd to the cover of each of my laptops for auto backups, one is constantly written, erased and reformatted, and one gets bounced from home to truck to work and back. Zero failures. Pro Tip - if you're copying over large amounts of data, download and use a tiny, free program called FastCopy. (find it on Softpedia, Majorgeeks, File Hippo, CNET etc). Excellent Memory Expansion for your gaming system
I've got a 500GB hard drive on my Xbox One and with the games now a days taking tons of memory, this is a Great alternative to trading in a console for more memory. Just plug in the Seagate drive to one of the usb ports on the gaming system and you're set. My games even load and run faster now that they've got all the additional memory. Worst external enclosure I have ever purchased!
Enclosure is a screwless design made of cheap plastic which broke when trying to open it up to install the drive into it but even if it did not break there is no way to secure the drive in the case so its loose inside and impossible to connect the usb cable to. Screws were sent but there are no screw holes anywhere on the case. Its obvious why Seagate dumped this junk on the open market. I will say that the circuit board that connects to the hard drive and the usb cable does work so it has to hang off the back of the drive without using the enclosure for this train wreak of a product to work.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Small compact 2TB storage and backup drive.
A very small compact storage drive. I used it to backup my laptop drive/partition and also as a backup device for my data (photos/files etc.). Just plugged it in to a USB port using the cable that came with it and then easy to use. Very good value. Would be nice if it came with a storage case.
