Like getting a new computer (almost).
This was the highest level CPU my MB would support, so it was a no-brainer. Double the cores and a higher speed than the one it replaced. It uses more power when active, but when it's idling no real difference than it's predecessor. Since I leave this computer on all day, that was important.
