Faster disc transfer rate
The 7200 RPM drive will eat up your battery a little quicker but you will get better overall performance from it than the 5400 RPM drive. If you want higher disc transfer speed, go for the 7.200 rpm. if you want longer battery life go for the 5.400 rpm In terms of reliability, both 5400 and 7200 have the same reliability. Its just a matter of luck if your HDD fails.
