Pretty fun toy
I've enjoyed this little droid. It does not move fast at all but it is cute and the noises it makes to get your attention when you stop playing it are fun. I'm glad I didn't pay the $80 retail price for a new one but it does what it says it does and it is easy to use. So much fun!
Our 7 year old loves it. He has been waiting for one for almost a year, and it was a hit! Sometimes the head falls off if it hits something abruptly, so as long as you don’t run into something, it’s fine. (There is a magnet inside that always ends up at the top so putting the head back on is easy.) Can’t figure out how to power it down despite reading/following the instructions repeatedly, but it auto-powers-down after 5 minutes of inactivity, so we just do that. Head stays PUT!!
I had been reading reviews about this item where people have been complaining that the “head does not stay on“- really? That certainly isn’t the same as this product, the moment the head found just the right spot, it snapped in place and it stuck! The only complaint I have is that I also have a D-0 “Wobot” which apparently is the same product line and so it uses the same kind of controller on the same frequency. It’s too bad that they couldn’t program a different radio frequency for the BB unit. This is a problem that I always run across when buying the RC cars that I collect. The idea was to race them, which I can’t do because one controller controls all of the cars. It’s only a minor problem though. I put this thing on my kitchen floor and he definitely avoids being stuck, he doesn’t like obstacles and he goes around them.  Definitely a companion for my D-0! if you jostle them, they will sit there and make a little noises and movements so it gives you the illusion that they are communicating.

Fun and decent toy as an adult fan
I love BB-8 and I have all three major animated versions. This one has the one issue that all mention, the head comes off rather easily, but I have had little issue with that. He's moderately quick, the remote took some time to start working, and it's sort of a pain to put the two pieces of the body back together. As an adult, he's neat and he "talks" on his own. The Sphero is my favorite, but this guy is decent sized and worth the smaller price tag. Overall, still a 5/5.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Just try to keep his head on
