So Google clearly went out to out-Macbook Pro the Macbook Pro with the first gen. Pixel, and they largely succeeded. It's drop dead gorgeous, with a (touch)screen that is out-of-this-world, luxury backlit keyboard, and superbly tactile touchpad. For reading and writing, general internet use, and viewing photos and videos, this is the ultimate machine: Fast and sleek. The Ivy Bridge CPU is a power hog though, and that's a lot of pixels to push. The battery life is only about 4-5 hours. It's also very heavy for the size, and - how can I put this - it's a laptop that's so nice you naturally want to baby it, so unlike a Thinkpad or a cheap Acer it's not a laptop that works particularly well as a road machine, and that's before considering that it probably doesn't run the software you need it to. So this laptop is best used around the house, something like an iPad but with a much more comfortable typing experience. The condition of this device as received was absolutely perfect. it appears to have been given a new battery. Battery health was above 97% when I checked. The chrome operating system is at EOL but I don't really believe this is a security issue and it still runs great. Also I have heard of a project in the works called 'LacrOS' which puts a new chrome browser on to an older Chromebook.I tested it with Xubuntu live USB and everything seemed to work. The keyboard,touchpad, and screen--well, this is an extremely high quality machine, much nicer than I ever expected to own.

While the battery life has dropped off a bit on my refurbished model, it was still an absolute steal for $160. Much better than anything you can buy new for that price including a fantastic touch screen and a beautiful keyboard. It is lightweight, wonderfully designed and powerful for such a low price. So this Chromebook is old enough that it no longer receives ChromeOS updates from Google. This is fine for me, as I just reinstalled it with Ubuntu Linux, but might present a problem for someone actually wanting a ChromeOS device. Beyond that, the item I received was in very good shape and works well as a laptop. These machines are very solidly built, with a metal body, so there is an amount of heft to them. In all I am happy with my purchase, especially for the price, but it took a bit of effort on my part to get there..

The chrome book of this design is a combination of a laptop and a tablet. Very good for someone who wants that to have chrome browser on the go,..often tablets don’t give you a full webpage like this does,.. it only has limited storage, however as it tries to save documents and such on the cloud.

Google is not really a hardware company. They make premium Chromebooks and premium Android phones mostly to show their vendors how good these devices can be. Chromebooks just work. No viruses, No nonsense operating system stuff. They are brilliant if you are connected, and fine if you are not. They are lightweight, attractive, have good battery life, and have an industrial design that could have been Apple. I ran a large graduate school. We gave these to our students. They loved them. Many abandoned their MacBooks. Even those who didn't thought they were great.

This is a really well made and solid laptop. The screen is superbe. The sound is the best that I have heard from laptop speakers. There is a stereo or 3D quality to the sound depending upon the quality of the source media. My first foray into the Chromebook world. I find any product over 5 years old can't get updated from Google. Not automatically and not manually from downloading and installing and updating it yourself. The actual unit is fast and well constructed. I ended up installing ClearOS (Linux) on it because of the update issue. Gr8 machine, but the price is a bit too high for a product that has passed its end of life.

I purchased a laptop last year and it was a good, quality one. But this one is so much better! This is sleek, and a lot lighter than the other one. I love the light up keyboard! It's user friendly. My other laptop I have a hard time organizing my photos. This chrome book is easy to use and I have no trouble organizing my photos. I paid considerably less for this Chrome book!
