Work great but limited when used in a non-Apple wi-fi system.
This router functions but is limited if you're not using it within the "Apple eco system". I bought it to use as a wi-fi extender but found that function is only available if I use an Apple Extreme as my main router. It will not function as an extender with my Netgear router (or any other brand). As a footnote... This will "join" my wi-fi network acting as an access point (not an extender). The Apple Airport Express Base is a great WIFI ROUTER . I HAVE OTHERS THAT I TRIED BUT IT WILL NOT WORK AS GREAT AS THIS ONE. It did not have the old setting REMOVED & it would have been nice if they would Remove them or give me the pass WORD to get into it ! Easy set up, was very helpful in extending wifi coverage in our older home. No more "dead spots". Also bought a sectind unit to stearm music to an older receiver. The airport express has an audio out that makes this easy. Saves me on data overages
My wife and I didn’t realize how much cellular data we were using just by losing signal in the kitchen and backyard.
