Phenomenal Headset
I’ll be honest in saying that I was a little worried about buying a headset that said “may show signs of cosmetic wear and light scratches.” Let me start off by saying that I work in retail and don’t even like to perform functionality checks on headphones and other over, or in ear, devices that get returned or have been opened within the store. So I was a little out of my comfort zone by buying a headset that read that in the description. So, for the part that everyone is waiting for, they look immaculate. It’s hard to believe they are not brand new. Packaging looks like it came right off the shelf. I can’t find any marks or signs of wear on the headset itself. I put 8 hours of play on them with the M80 mixer that came with it hooked up to my Xbox One controller and my voice came out great through the mic as well. My party could hear me and the playback on my gaming stream sounded loud and clear. Sound, mic, everything is superb. Also note that I took off the side plates and mic and there’s no corrosion on any of the fittings and zero to none wear. I just want to say that I am very impressed to say the least. These were a phenomenal buy for the money and anyone looking for a great headset at a really affordable price should definitely get into these Astro A40s. Also note worthy is the fact that the Halo markings are beautiful and the headset is extremely nice. I like the fit and finish much better than my white Astro A50. Really I can’t say it enough, if your reading this review trying to figure out if you should shell out the $70 for these, do. You will absolutely not regret it. Also, I have the Halo Xbox One and the headset matches perfectly. They were definitely meant to go together. Never buy turtle beach, again! Awesome find!
Bought these for my son with his Christmas money. We always used Turtle Beach until I had to deal with customer support. Save yourself the headache. I had to argue with their customer support over a warranty issue. They said I wasn't giving them a proper screenshot=I don't want to take care of your warranty. Head piece broke, cheap! Never could afford a new pair of Astros until having to purchase several TB's, and then we found these! Works, but has issues.
The headset itself is very nice condition, cosmetically is perfect couldn’t ask for better packaging, cables all work fine. But then I plug it in, and it works perfect for 20-30 minutes and has issues connecting to Xbox live parties, the mic cuts in and out. If I move the actual mic itself that’s attached to the headset it makes a scratchy noise and cuts the mic off from party chat.
