TV-Ears
Pro: Can hear the TV much better Con: No instructions, so I don't know what the green light means and if I put the unit into the second charging slot I get a red light. Don't know how to tell when it's completely charged. Con: Very uncomfortable after 10 or 15 minutes. Ear buds press into the ear canal with no ability to adjust the pressure! Ear felt (bud cover) fell off of on one side during the first night of use. Need to provide different ear buds to help alleviate the pressure in the ear. Con: Control unit hangs off of the ears. Fragile
This unit is five star for sound , comfort and lightweightedness, but negative five star for durability ; the arms are simply way too fragile, mine have broken three times now, even with the care that I use when putting them on. I repair them with superglue and plastic reinforcing strips, but still they break every other day, and of course they look crappy with the repairs visible. Serves its purpose somewhat!
The TV Ears is just a unit used to hear the TV slightly better without the weight of the over-the-ear headsets, Does it work well? Not really. If there is no one in front of you and the ears - its pretty good! Otherwise you cannot hear a thing! Move from in front of the TV the sound is off! Basically, if you want to hear your TV without annoying your partner - you need to get the heavy headsets from either Sony or other even better makers which really work - you can hear the TV perfectly without noises and can travel several hundred feet and can still hear the TV perfectly - BUT THEY ARE HEAVY AND HARD on your ears if you are not used to them! TV Ears Headset Replacement
When we got the set I ordered, I knew one of the earbuds was missing. So I had to find a matching pair from my collection that would fit. On the headset, the base for the earbuds kept falling off. I took the bases off my broken headset and glued them on. I also had a hard time finding earbuds that would work. None of them really fit, but I found one pair that I could push on the bases and if we're careful taking the headset on and off, they don't fall off. Since they are not like the originals, they are uncomfortable and hurt our ears after wearing them for awhile. At least we still are able to use them when only one person wants to watch TV. Buying a whole new set from the TV Ears company was just too expensive.
