The slide copier works very well. It may b a slightly overpriced as is the case often with genuine Nikon accessories, but the quality is there, albeit it is almost all plastic. The drawback is within Nikon's color negative to color positive in-camera technology (so far). The results are usually flat and of the wrong color pallet. However, if one has LightRoom, Photoshop, etc., one can massage the colors to more-or-less to where they should be. But it takes some work. Nikon is well aware of the shortcoming, so the ball is in their court if they wish to invest in correcting the matter. Otherwise the color slide and B&W negative capture/conversion is fine. Working with the appropriate Nikon camera and macro lens makes work overall easier than with other film scanners. What is lacking that can be found with some dedicated film scanners is infrared assisted scanning that can scan through micro fungus - a common problem with old slides. But right now, overall this approach makes a lot of sense.Read full review
