The storyline is great and even though it involves time travel it is believable and leaves you wanting more. From the opening episode I was hooked. To those history buffs out there the topic itself will be enough. But for those cinephiles out there that could care less about the topic, it is still very much worth your time for the great acting and period drama stylings. You will love this and not regret your purchase. As said, you will wish that the timeline started sooner so you could experience more of what this title has to offer.

Considering the length of the mini-series, I would have liked it more if they had added a couple more installments. Instead they cut out some of the most important parts and added things total unnecessary to the plot in the movie. Having read and loved the book, it was very disappointing to me. They took a great book and made it into a love story. The book was much better but if you haven't read the book, watch the movie first, then read the book. The movie is about 1/2 the book. I rate it a 6 out of 10. They could have done better by sticking closer to the original theme. If I go into more detail it would be a spoiler.

This is a fictional story about what might have happened if President Kennedy hadn't been assassinated. The "time traveler" is a school teacher who was searching for the meaning of life. Journeying back to 1963 Dallas, he encounter's Lee Harvey Oswald and all the events of that day. Stephen King has outdone himself. The final sentence of the synopsis offered on the back of the DVD case says: "Stephen King and executive producer Bridget Carpenter offers a mind-bending, emotional thrill ride unlike any other". I give this epic story 5-stars.

Having not read the book, I started with the DVD version of 11.22.63. It was very entertaining as a sci-fi (time travel) intertwined with historical events. As a person who believes that there is more than what the Warren Commission uncovered, the story line that Stephen King has written is plausible, as far as Oswald's character is concerned. But of course it is King's interpretation of Oswald. The main character's (Jake) love interest across time with Sadie does have some interplay with the main story line, and doesn't take away to much from it. I think that overall that this mini-series (not first season) will not disappoint anyone who watches it.

The classic time travel question? What would you do if you could time travel? Most common answer seems to be to be kill hitler. Sounds great right...world would be better right ? Well maybe space/time needs hitler to be there. You likely would nake things much much worse. This is the second most asked question of what to do in time travel. Note the title of this fantastic stephen king mini-series
