I chose this engine after researching others. I like it because it has rubber wheels as opposed to plastic ones so it grips the wooden tracks better than hard plastic wheels. It has all the bells and whistles that my grandson likes to press and hear, and it works, pulling several cars on a straight track. It goes up hill, too, but downhill is a little tricky. The battery compartment is hard to get to, but I don't mind that because the batteries have lasted for us and I don't want the battery compartment kid-friendly anyway. Worth the money.

This has been a good train for my son, it is way stronger than the other battery operated engines! ... but I don't think there is an auto shut-off/sleep feature so my son will take the train off the track, but accidentally click the forward or back button and it will drain the batteries crazy fast. We've had this train for 2 weeks and are on our 3rd set of AAA batteries for it.
