Wireless Motion Detector Security Alarm Kit with 3 extra Motion Sensor
Chinese made....so, of course, don't expect quality. I set it up in some remote buildings the first day with the maximum 4 sensors. In testing the distance of transmission from the detector to the base, it was better than I expected....nearly a quarter of a mile, even inside of buildings and through the woods. I turn it off in the day and on at night and keep the alarm on my night stand. The problem is...It sounds an alarm sometimes during the day even when turned off. Bad switch, bad circuit board, or what, I don't know. It created many false alarms so I have resorted to leaving the switch on and unplugging it during the day and plugging back in at night. This works for me but is a nuisance. I have worked with security equipment for 30 years. I understand how things work...or should work. I have decided to keep the setup and not return it. What does long range mean?
If you want something with good range between the sensor and the receiver, this will work. But, if you want something with a long range sensor this falls short. Your target will have to be within 10 to 12 feet of the sensor. That is with the sensor set to high sensitivity.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

works the the steel walls of my workplace
I park my motorcycle under an awning outside my workplace at night and place the motion sensor pointed towards bike...the building is an industrial warehouse type building made of metal about a football field in size.... this sensor will set off the alarm if I go outside and move near the bike.
