Awesome amp for anyone who needs to play or practice without bothering others
I'm new at the whole electric guitar lark so didn't want to make anyone else have to listen to the noise I've been making. This amp is perfect. I'd say it was rather basic in it's available effects but I can walk around with headphones on and not bother anyone else and still play clean or dirty. Great practice amp
First off, I'm a dabbler and not a professional. I bought this so I could practice on my electric guitar without disturbing everyone else. For that purpose it is excellent. The package comes with a small instruction pamphlet which is tucked into the folded cardboard backing. It's easy to miss it. You need the instructions because it's not obvious how to operate the device without them. But the instructions are easy to download as a PDF from the manufacturer's website. You're not going to replace all your pedals with this inexpensive device but it does include an impressive array of built-in features such as tremolo, reverb, distortion, tone and (I haven't tried it) Rhythm. It does a great job of mixing the AUX input with the input from the instrument. I use it with my laptop and Band in a Box. Adjust the AUX level at its source (the laptop or player) to an acceptable level and then use the controls on the amPlug to adjust the volume of the instrument to your taste. Listening to the resultant sound through headphones is impressive.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great little device that allows you to play your electric guitar and listen with headphones while yor guitar sounds like its playing thru a real Vox AC30 amp. Effects include reverb, echo, tremolo, chorus; the gain control allows you to dial in as much or as little distortion as you want. And you can even hook up an external mp3 player so you can play along. Also has tone and volume controls. Great for practicing when you don't want to disturb anyone else. This amp is very versatile. It has numerous options available regarding effects like chorus, delay, and reverb, as well as tonal adjustment and gain for varying levels of distortion. Well decent, but not more!
It has couple of different modes, except the “standard” sound and they all sound weird! If you crank up the volume the sound will have static noise in it and will become distorted. First, the input for my headphone jack is Too Small. I had to purchase an adapter. Finally, I get it working and the controls do not respond properly, the knobs aren't facing up. Then it is full of static Sounds. I plugged in to my beautiful Brand New Gibson Les Paul Special Edition. Brand New High grade Headphones that I just purchased. Super cool product, just like the real thing!
No way to describe it with text, and I'm not allowed to upload audio :) but with headphones on this thing sounds exactly like the classic Vox AC30 amplifier. It has a great range of tones, eq, gain/overdrive and basic effects. So far the batteries (a pair of AAA batteries) have lasted for 8 hours of use and there's no sign of weakness yet. This thing is so light, yet so powerful i can't believe it every time i use it. Wish I got one long ago! Highly recommended for anyone interested in full amplification sound without anyone in the next room hearing a thing.
