Good product, but SFF vs LFF models of these servers use different rail kits!
This rail kit is solid and engineered well. The price I got it for on eBay was pretty good, vs. what HP typically asks for one of these kits.
The only issue I ran into is that I didn't do enough research in advance of buying. My HP DL380 G8 is the configuration that takes the larger form-factor (LFF) drives vs. the SFF drives. I didn't realize that would actually make a difference -- but incredibly, it does! HP physically built the LFF models of these servers about 1 1/2 inches longer than the SFF models, and sold different sets of rack rails for both types!
So when I installed these, my server wouldn't slide all the way into the rack and latch in place. I'll probably have to take these rails off and buy the correct ones.
Perfect replacement for the original Gen 8 rails.
The original rails for the HP Gen 8 servers were painful to install, involved tiny screws and washers, and forced you to hold a screwdriver in awkward positions. These were designed for Gen 9 machines, but are perfectly backward compatible with Gen 8 equivalent machines. I used these with a DL380p Gen8; time from opening the package to having the server racked was maybe five minutes, tops.
