Some good and some bad
If your controller's joystick is ruined then this is a good option. This stick does not have the precision of the original Nintendo stick. It does not fit well into the controller and breaking the z-button's circuit board on installation is a real possibility. If you take your time and file down the circuit retainer then you can get a more settling fit and finish. Once installed, you can play games where you will discover that games that require high accuracy (Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Super Mario 64...) will not be controllable with this stick. Games like Lego Racer, and Donkey Kong 64, will be more forgiving. All in all, it works better than some sticks but not as nice as stock, especially not for $10... IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS, then either do this on a controller that is already broken beyond repair or buy a controller that is broken for less than $4 to make it worth your while.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quite good
Joystick feels nice and "gamecubish". The surface is soft and won't damage you thumb as much as the original N64 stick. The only minus is that the stick has bigger dead zone in the middle. That makes the aiming on fps games hard and I wouldn't play those games with this. Near-perfect replacement joystick.
I say near-perfect, for what I think is a minor issue: the joystick gets stuck when pushed up and stays that way until it’s adjusted. However I think, with time and enough usage, it’ll be at a point where it be perfectly worn in. Otherwise it’s fantastic, easy to install and better than the original joystick as it’s more comfortable on the thumb. Doesn’t make it sore after a while. I would recommend this product looking to fix or replace their Nintendo 64 joystick. A fine product indeed.

Good replacement thumbstick with nice range

Needs repair out of the box.
The stick came in tilting to the side slightly. It doesn't hit the corners of the bay on the opposite side and it's impossible to do small, precise inputs. Good luck sneaking up on Piranha plants and keeping balanced on tight platforms in Super Mario 64. Still better than an unusable worn out OEM stick though... Attractive, but its performance is not the greatest quality
It doesn't have the same sensitivity as an actual Gamecube stick - this might be because of the design of the N64 controller itself, I'm not sure. But you press a tiny bit to the right/left/wherever with this stick, and no in-game movement happens until you move the stick to a far enough point, much farther than you have to move it on Gamecube, and when movement does happen on the N64 with this stick, it's a much more sudden/fast movement than you experience with a regular N64 stick or with a Gamecube controller. On the Gamecube, you can move the stick a tiny bit, and the character/aim/etc. moves a tiny bit, but with this stick on the N64, you have to move the stick much farther to make the character/sight/etc. move at all, and when movement does happen, the movement is much faster. In other words, in comparing this stick to 1) a regular N64 controller, or 2) an actual Gamecube controller, this stick is much worse than either of those. This is what my experience was with this particular stick. I don't know if it's because of this particular manufacturer/brand, or because this type of stick is just not very compatible with an N64 controller, or if this one was just a fluke. But this was my experience with this one stick. I have 3 controllers left to upgrade, so for the next one, I will be buying a brand new, original N64-style stick, and expect it to have better results than this one. Pretty allright
Few things that bothered me: -The plug seemed little too tight for the n64 controller ( had to use some force to get it in ) -It's too damn sensitive for any motion, moving just a tad to left/right can be difficult some times. Although I bet this one won't wear out as the original N64 sticks. Allthough I've found very simple fix for those loose N64 joysticksticks.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wasnt a good fit
The shipping was horrible, and the package was damaged. The cable plug was a little too big and I had to cut off to fit it in. And when I assembled it back together it didn't want to close because the part was too big. After some adjustments, I was able to close it.
