Great and well made unit with easy operation - plug and go.
I bought this audio interface so I can use it to practice with my band on JamKazam. (I have a digital mixer for recordings etc). All my band members had difficulties connecting their various devices and also experienced a varying degree of latency (which still hasn't been resolved). This little unit was plug and go and minimal to none latency. Transmitted my keys and vocals clearly and 'on time'. It is well made, clearly marked and has pads on each channel for signal boost. I am more than pleased with it. The only down side I can think of is when turning the volume on the headphone jack above 6, you start getting some hum in your phones. At mid point, it is still clean as a whistled and definitely more than loud enough. In a pinch, you can adjust the 2 channels to pump more volume but the trick is to find the balance before you experience distortion.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The Quintessential Audio Interface
I've gone thru about 8 interfaces over the past 10 years including, Line 6 UX2, NI Komplete Audio 6, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and others. Haven't tried the Universal Audio Apollo Twin MKII QUAD but it's $1,300+ bucks. I can say from my experience the UMC204HD out shines every audio interface I've ever used. Totally compatable with my DAW right out of the box. Every other AI I bought had a lot of tweaking my pc / unit to get properly working. This unit is replacing my Line 6 UX2. With my new build pc, UX2 was a complete disappointment. With the Berhinger, all you have to do first is download the driver from berhinger-dot-com. Follow the simple instruction from the software and your up and running in no time. Let me mention here that this unit is compatible with Windows 7 as I refuse to get W10, this is extremely important to me. It is also compatible with W10 if that is your OS. Sound is excellent. A little extra high end frequencies on playback but maybe only 1db max in the mid range band on your master mix which is easily compensated for . As rugged a construction as one could ask for and about half the size of my UX2 to give you an idea how compact the unit is. Very versatile
The beringer is very useful for its price and does a good job with many outputs and four inputs. The monitor button is very useful when it comes to recording, though I have yet to use any DAW software since the UMC204HD does not include any. I will try to record some instrument in my spare time with the right software though. I use the UMC204HD mainly as a DA/ soundcard for my computer right now, although I've also used it to rerecord my old vinyl into flac files. Driver installation was not straightforward as I had to go to behringer's website which was unclear, but the device is great. There is almost no noise at 100% gain and the controls are easy to use and offer a lot of connectivity. Perfect addition to our live performance setup
