Interesting locomotive worth having despite some deficiencies
Remarkable model considering the fact that Hornby's steam locomotives are a bit short on detail which, instead display model (such as my own) is a fault. As a running model, it performs well although I have not subjeted it to extensive testing. The most annoying fact is that, despite modelled brackets for the head lamps, these are missing. The placement of these lamps in front of the the British locomotives, indicated the type of train the locomotive was a part of, and their lack in a model, especially a running one, is a major drawback. The lamps were distinctly different from the fixed front lights used in the continental engines, and using substitutes from the spare-part box will not solve the problen. Hopefully, Hornby will address the issue which affects almost all of their steam engines.
