I am writing a book with sophisticated language. It did not do well at first, but has become more accurate with continued use. The secret is slowing down slightly and speaking in two or three word bursts. When combined with Microsoft Word, it does pretty well, especially with the spell checker. Easy to setup up and use
I had a little trouble installing the program on a Windows 7 PC, but it was a problem with the PC not the program. You can even select what type of accent you have, to help with the accuracy. Extremely disappointing
If it actually installed, I would love it. I've had it before on a previous laptop but this one -- that is compatible with my system - will simply not install. I put in the disk, entered the serial number, the InstallShield screen comes up and then nothing. I waited for 15 minutes. The progress bar never moved. And then I couldn't cancel the process. I actually had to open the drive to remove the disk to stop the process - that didn't seem to be working anyway. Nuance needs to work on the installation set-up. I couldn't get the microphone to work without yelling. I strongly suspected the jack input at the rear of my computer as when it was plugged in the computer said it wasn't. It's an older machine so that may have been an issue. Anyway, I got a USB microphone, bypassing the jack and voila - it worked like a dream. It even opens Windows Live Mail by voice command and enters the dictated message. Couldn't be happier! I am on my fifth book for publication now and an injury to my shoulder necessitated this.
