The Pro's: It is powerful. Image is bright and sharp. For an optic with a 3.33 exit pupil, it is very adequate in low light. Traditionally the rule hss been that for good low light performance, you should have an exit pupil of 3.75. The Vortex Solo 10x36 does extremely well with an exit pupil of 3.6 and this one also exceeds the expectation (My experience with the Solo led me to believe it would). I had a Zeiss Aus Jena Nobilem 15x60 and this has a brighter image and keeps up with it in low light
Cons: a bit of a hassle setting the eye relief for me, but that is unique to me. It should have had a larger objective lens. Especially considering that the Vortex binox at 56mm does. But I am not complaining
Bottom Line: I cannt say "better than expected' because I expected a lot. But it performs better than the rule dictates
