Vortex Recce Pro Monocular A True Handheld Spotting Scope
Vortex filled a niche with the Recce Pro HD that needed filling, the mid-priced regular sized monocular with above average optics, good armor and fully waterproof. First my minor complaints, The Molle case. While Coyote Tan is a great color, Black or even Grey would have been a more tactical color choice. Plus a little more room in the case to easily put the scope in either way. It's a well made case and protects the scope but just a bit more room would make it easier to case it with one hand. Also it's not waterproof although the scope has excellent waterproofing from Vortex, If you're like me and want to keep it safe find a waterproof pouch to keep it in for wet conditions. Now on to the good, the 8x32 may seem a bit small to some but the 393ft field of view is wider than a lot of 8x42 binoculars. The focus is razor sharp and stays put on this scope with the firm focus ring setup. Nice bright images even at dusk. Size and shape are easy to grip and the Molle clip slips on to your vest easily I'm very happy with my Recco Pro and would definitely recommend it to anyone on the fence. This scope is a keeper for me. I hope it will be for you too Just an update to this review I found a padded utility case from voodoo tac that works perfect with this.
