I purchased this guitar with the intention of stripping it down to only the body, neck and headstock, and that's what I did. I installed all new hardware and strings, a bone saddle, bridge pins and nut, oiled the fretboard, adjusted the action, and polished the frets and body to a high gloss - now it's a favorite guitar, and looks and plays great!

Not just good for the money, but a good guitar PERIOD ! Only needed a minor truss rod tweak ,& it's good to go. Nice neck , a very few sharp-ish fret ends , but otherwise fit & finish is very nice , and plays well. Electronics are ok , and work fine , but I didn't buy it for that . It's a great size for seated playing , and has replaced my full sized Yamaha for back porch strumming. It plays just as well, sounds as good , but with a little lower volume ( expected with the shallow body ). Overall a VERY GOOD PURCHASE for anyone looking for a thin body acoustic.... and at this price range , you can't beat it.

Next in bad shape has to be replaced probably turn into a slide guitar not good for much anything else very disappointed. I always heard Kona was a good guitar but I guess I was wrong.
