Not perfect but it helps
Might take some practice but it gets you close. For it to not be skewed you must be lined up exactly with the trailer. If you can't see the trailer it can be a chore. My name brand hitch did not have a flat enough place to stand the telescoping ball up exactly straight thus when the balls touched you were not under the hitch correctly. After some fiddling around I figured a way to work it so that when the balls touched you were pretty close. Like many trailers that disappear from view when backing up it can help. The telescoping mount could stand to be a tad taller. I suspect that some 4x4 might be too tall to see the balls, mine just barely was visible over the tailgate, Tell us more should have an OK column.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works well but fragile.
Works well but very fragile. Connection from magnetic base to shift broke off first time I removed from magnetic surface. I was able to repair using jb weld. Always remove by grabbing the magnetic base. Not the shaft.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Magnetic base holds it in place so it never moves!
These alignment balls are wonderful!! I could never back my truck up the first time to my gooseneck horse trailer without one. I only use one and place it in my truck bed about 3 - 4 inches in front of the ball, then just back up until the ball touches the front of the trailer and it is centered perfectly over the ball.
