I have a bunch of LP stuff and have always been impressed with their products , until I bought this . It's supposed to have a rubberized mid section allowing flex and sustain . Mine does not ! And I am not happy . I don't know why but the one I got is solid as a rock , so with the Vibraslap tightened into the clamp it is completely choked and all normal effects of the Vibraslap are zero . I've seen two online videos showing this unit in action and in both videos , the unit definitely flexes and the rubberized center section seems to do what it meant to do but mine won't flex at all . The Vibraslap would break before the solid center section on mine would flex . Maybe I got a bad one , but it's not like the videos show and for the first time I'm posting a negative review on an LP product .
Historically, the Vibraslap had been a hand held instrument. Great if you're a hand percussionist, inconvenient if you play drum set in a band. This allows you to incorporate the Vibraslap into your drum set rhythms. I was skeptical, because it's a clamp, and the Vibraslap requires vibration to function, but it actually works very well. I have it mounted on my kit, and can use it when I need it without having to pick it up, or put down my sticks.
