Great for Darth Maul costume!
My son used it for his Halloween costume! It just made the costume perfect. For play though it couldn't hold up to my sons agressive play fights (he is ten) against other sabers of it's kind- in the end we know any saber is not going to last at my house unless it's made of metal, then we'd be in the ER. If your child goes easy on his/her toys though or you just want it for dress up or Halloween, absolutely!

Purchased this for my 5 year old son for Christmas. Item arrived looking like it had been dug out of a dumpster. He opened it up this morning (Xmas), one of the lights that illuminates the sword is half burnt out and the saber fell apart into 3 pieces when he started to play with it. Merry Christmas!!!!!!
