I was expecting this to be comparable to the Latrax SST/Desert Prerunner or ECX Torment 4wd however you will be disappointed in quality. My Latrax does great and have metal gear diffs and driveline out of the box. the ECX has beefy axles as well similar to the shafts that come on a traxxas bandit. however my shafts on this dromida SC truck while they are plastic they seem to be strong the problem is when ever you full lock left or right the driveshaft binds up causes the wheel to lock on which ever direction your trying to steer. I will be tinkering with this to see if it can be corrected but it is an annoyance. This little thing is a tough bugger though It's been stepped on, sent flying down 2 flights of stairs, carried around in the mouth of st. bernard, clipping trees, and curbs, etc (all after the driveshaft problem I think that's why it crashes so much except for the 2 flights that was just frustration with the wheel locking up...) all to have no broken parts what so ever. The motor does tend to run on the warm side pushing 170°F on "normal running" I think the driveshaft has a part to play in that causing additional stress in the drive line. the mudflaps and overall design of this truck aren't bad and with the added features of the faux light bar, tire design, and mudflaps it has a more realistic feel to it's looks. The truck is decent to wrench on and take care of small maintenance such as setting gear mesh and so on. the shocks are fair at best there is a lot of chassis slap when taking it off small jumps designed for 1/18th scale trucks so I recommend trying a heavier weight shock fluid. The power on the brushed model is decent for inside very torquey low end with a decent mid-range and ends quickly on the top end between 14-15mph. there is a brushless motor available for dromida vehicles that will give you 28-30mph for a car that's 1/18! that's insane!
