  • Perfect replacement for a TM822G that Optimum started charging for

Have a TM822G, but Optimum just started charging their $5 a month rental fee so we decided to buy one. Looked online and the only real difference between the TM822G and TM822A is supposedly the compartment to be able to put in an optional backup battery, and this unit is significantly less than the TM822G units I have seen. Unit arrived today and I was able to get it working without issue. Note that it did need to go through several reboot cycles on its own and with me pulling the power before it was fully initialized but after that it started working perfectly. If it is as reliable as the TM822G was, we should have many years of trouble free service.

  • Arris TM822A Cable Modem

After waiting 3 weeks for this it finally arrived. Directions are pretty clear. Once you disconnect your old modem you must have another way to get on the internet to activate the new modem with your subscriber. If you have that then you can activate the new modem quickly. Must have your account number, phone number associated with your account and the MAC ID # of the modem ready. This was not exactly clear in the instructions. Once the proper information was entered it was smooth sailing. Working great and now can save $120.00 per year from the cable co. Well worth it. Would recommend.

  • Cable modem

Works just as well as the original from the cable company with no problems easy to set up easy to use a lot better than paying $10 a month to rent a modem which is a total rip-off

  • Worked great to eliminate maint fee

Bought this when Optimum started to charge a modem maint fee. Swapped this in, hard wired a laptop to get the registration page, filled in the info and it all worked. Highly recommended.

  • Great Deal

Instead of leasing a modem from Optimum for 10.89 a month, i got this for 32 dollars and it works perfectly. i contacted optimum and they were very helpful, and they helped me to connect it. i am really glad i did this move.

  • Works with Optimum in New Jersey.

Used the Optimum modem setup page, extremely easy to set up. Up and running seems to work fine.

  • Stop renting

I was paying $10 per mo. Rental fee. No more rental fees, speed is the same. Only thing is it takes time to set up. You also have to return you old box to cable co. You just need to disconnect you old when instructed, reconnect the new as the old was, and read 3 sets of numbers from the new and maybe old box. 10 years on rental fees $1200.. do the math. That cruise money 💰

  • Not the same , does not want to connect to the Internet

I have the same product that I renting from Comcast and wanted to replace it. This one is much smaller then the one I have and they both are the same ARRIS TM822 3.0. Tried several times and does not want to connect to the internet. I will return it

  • Arris 822A Docsis 3.0 Modem

Good value for money. Sent via 3 day Priority USPS. Nice to have an extra Ethernet cable as the release clip tends to snap off. Another bonus is the internal power adapter avoiding the clunky power brick. Cablevision Optimum website has an older webpage which specified that only the 822G model is compatible. The newer webpage for compatible modems stated only "Arris 822" without mentioning A or G model. Two observations from the Optimum technician: 1) any Docsis 3.0 modem is compatible, 2) Arris 822 (both A & G) very reliable, requiring few replacements.

  • Great purchase but...

Great price. I did not look close enough to see that the cord was not included. I learned my lesson - I purchased a router today and saw the words " as is.. Meaning no cord.
