The product is a wired mouse. I needed it to replace a wireless mouse for my laptop when I switched from wireless to wired for all my home electronics. The switch is my solution to thwart a hacker who lives next door and wants to steal my identity. The mouse arrived ahead of schedule, but In the meantime I found a wired mouse in a Salvation Army store to deal with the problem neighbor. The new mouse sat on a table until I began the project of converting an old IBM Aptiva computer tower with Windows Me to a Linux OS. The original mouse was frustrating. The old Aptiva recognized the new mouse and I can now proceed without frustration.
