I love my Stir Crazy popcorn popper. My niece had one and used it when we were there. I don't like microwave popcorn - leaves the roof of my mouth feel greasy. I pop it in an old kettle on top of the stove, and the oil runs down and makes the bottom black. I ordered my Stir Crazy and love it!. It says to use 3/4 - 1 cup of popcorn, but I found that too much. I use 2/3 cup and works just right. I use coconut oil hard to find the ones that are coconut flavor, not flavorless. Love, Love it! It is lightweight and easy to operate. The only draw back, is where to store it. It takes up quite a bit of room, and can't just leave it on the counter. But other than that, I love it. I live in a small house with not much for kitchen cupboards. But WILL find a place to store it that is easy to get to.Read full review

My mother had this model for 30 years and the plastic started to crack. I've seen nothing but bad reviews on the replacement models, so I wanted an original. This was definitely new, and had the box, so it made a great gift. My only complaint would be if you are going to charge $18 to ship, it should have been in it's own box and not wrapped with brown paper. It was quite battered by the time it arrived!

I had one of these a few years back and it lasted about 7-10 years. Dropped it once too often and the base broke and had to get a new one. Bought the newer version (red) with the removable cooking surface. It was ok until the oil got down into the base and final gummed up the stirring mechanism. till it would not turn and burned up the motor. There was no way to really clean out the oil in the heating base and there was no way to keep the hot oil from seeping into the base. This one only lasted a little over a year. I needed another corn popper and I was determined to try and get the Original Stir Crazy. It was difficult but I finally succeeded to find another one (New). I have now had this one for a few week and have used it almost every day since. It even pops quicker and better than the newer red version. I am going to take good care of this one as I am afraid that I will not be able to replace it if something happens to it. Maybe I will buy another one while I can, so I will have another one for the future. The Original Black Stir Crazy is the best corn popper ever made. Bring it back.Read full review

I couldn't believe the first time I used it! My old popper would still have kernels left unpopped and only filled the bowl 1/2 full with small crunchy bits of popped corn, and it took forever to pop that much. This new popper filled the bowl so much that I had to cut back on the amount on the 2nd batch. It produced a light puffy treat in hardly any time at all.
