Pow! Quick, more cache on-chip than an ai7 7700K without the overheating issues and the higher TDP. The Xeon E3 1245 v6 won’t have your system begging for cooling solutions more than a high-quality low-profile CPU fan. My current setup is a VMWare ESXi instance and is powered on 24/7 with no issues. As well as hosting many VMs, this chip provides adequate graphics support for a bare-metal HyperV setup. Hardware pass-through is elegant leaving any operator with options beyond virtualization — just add 64GB of RAM — ECC or non-ECC. As a workstation standalone, this processor is a beast and the low temps allow quiet operation. One of Intel’s finest releases within the recent past.
