Ripping CD's with EAC, the lazer has proven more accurate for scratched/damaged audio-discs than the one in my Plextor Prumium2. Fast too. Haven't used for BD-R burning yet. Faceplate looks very nice. Beware the newer versions of this drive if you care about looks.
